Hampi Utsav, also known as the Vijaya Utsav, is a three-day cultural festival held annually in November at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi in Karnataka. Set among the magnificent ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire, the festival recreates the grandeur of the historic kingdom through elaborate cultural performances, puppet shows, classical dance recitals, music concerts, and fireworks against the backdrop of ancient temples and boulder-strewn landscapes. Processions with decorated elephants, camels, and horses move through the historic streets. Traditional crafts, local cuisine, and folk art are showcased in a grand exhibition. The festival features performances at iconic locations like the Vittala Temple, Lotus Mahal, and along the Tungabhadra River. Organized by the Karnataka state government and tourism department, Hampi Utsav has become a major cultural tourism event drawing visitors from across India and abroad. It serves to promote awareness of the rich heritage of the Vijayanagara Empire and Karnataka cultural traditions.
