Holla Mohalla Wallpapers

Holla Mohalla is a Sikh festival established by Guru Gobind Singh in 1701, celebrated on the day after Holi at Anandpur Sahib in Punjab. While the Hindu festival of Holi celebrates colors, Guru Gobind Singh initiated Holla Mohalla as a day for the Khalsa to demonstrate their martial skills. The three-day fair features dramatic displays of sword fighting (gatka), horse riding, tent pegging, archery, and mock battles by Nihang warriors in their distinctive blue attire and towering turbans (dastar boonga). The Nihang order, the martial wing of the Sikh community, plays a central role in the celebrations, performing daring stunts and showcasing traditional weapons. Thousands of Sikhs from across India and the world gather at Anandpur Sahib, where massive langars (community kitchens) serve free food to all visitors. Poetry recitals, kirtan, and religious discourses are held at the various gurdwaras. The festival was recognized by the Indian government as an event of national importance and is listed in the cultural calendar of Punjab.
