Phool Dei Wallpapers

Phool Dei is a charming spring festival of Uttarakhand celebrated on the first day of the Hindu month Chaitra (mid-March). Young girls collect colorful wildflowers from the hills and place them on the doorsteps of every house in the village, applying a paste of jaggery, curd, and rice flour (dei) alongside the flowers. This ritual symbolizes bringing prosperity, good health, and happiness to each household. The girls sing traditional Phool Dei songs as they make their rounds. In return, homeowners give them sweets, rice, and small gifts. The festival continues for about a month, with girls visiting houses on specific days. On the final day, called Bikhauti, a grand celebration is held with community feasting. The festival is unique to the Kumaon and Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand and reflects the deep connection between the hill communities and the natural world. The blooming of rhododendrons (buransh), primroses, and other wildflowers across the Himalayan slopes during this time makes the festival visually spectacular.
