Pitru Paksha Wallpapers

Pitru Paksha is a sixteen-day period in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada dedicated to honoring deceased ancestors through the ritual of Shradh. Hindus believe that during this period, the souls of three preceding generations descend to the earthly realm and can receive offerings from their living descendants. Devotees perform tarpan (water libation) and pinda daan (offering of rice balls) at sacred rivers and pilgrimage sites. Gaya in Bihar is considered the most sacred place for Pitru Paksha rituals, attracting hundreds of thousands of pilgrims. Varanasi, Haridwar, Prayagraj, Nashik, and Rameswaram are other major centers. During this period, no new ventures, weddings, or auspicious ceremonies are undertaken. The final day, Sarva Pitru Amavasya, is the most important, when offerings can be made for all ancestors regardless of their death date. Pitru Paksha is observed across all of India by devout Hindu families.
