Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! God's love is new every morning -- and these dewy tulips and hyacinths in the warm golden light of a fresh morning prove it. Every petal trembling with morning moisture, every bloom turned upward to meet the day, every color saturated by the fresh light of a morning that has never existed before. This is God's love in visible form: new, fresh, abundantly given, different every time you look for it and yet always recognizably His. Lamentations 3:22-23 is the promise that makes every morning sacred: "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." The word "new" in the Hebrew is chadash -- it means not just recent but renewed, refreshed, not worn or used up. God's love for you on Tuesday morning is not the leftover love from Monday, slightly depleted by your failures and imperfections. It is freshly generated, full-strength, as complete as if you had never needed it before. Flowers are one of creation's best daily demonstrations of this truth. A flower does not reuse yesterday's petals. Each bloom is offered fresh, complete, given entirely to the day. So too with God's daily mercies.
