They can still see it. They may even have climbed through it to reach this point. But their feet are on stone now, and that changes their entire relationship to the fog. They are no longer lost in it. They are above it, looking at it from a place of security. That is what trusting in the eternal Rock produces -- not the absence of confusion but a vantage point from which confusion cannot destabilize you.
