Happy Saturday Blessings! The Lord walks beside you -- and these footprints in the golden wet sand at sunset are the most tender proof. The sun is sinking to the horizon in a blaze of orange and gold, its path reflected in the smooth wet sand of the beach, and two sets of footprints -- yours and His -- lead together toward that beautiful light. The beach at sunset is one of the most universally recognized images of peace, rest, and divine companionship -- and Saturday is exactly the day to walk that beach. The famous poem "Footprints in the Sand" by Mary Stevenson (1936) gave voice to what millions of believers have felt: the awareness of God's presence as a walking companion through the landscape of life. The poem describes a dream in which the narrator sees their life's journey as footprints in sand, and notices that during the hardest times there is only one set of footprints -- and God explains: "It was then that I carried you." Whether walking beside or carrying us, God is present on every Saturday beach, in every footstep. Psalm 16:11 says "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Saturday's path is made known by the One who walks it with you. The weekend is not a spiritual pause -- it is a spiritual opportunity.
