Wednesday is the hinge of the week: Monday's fresh start is behind you and Friday's rest is still ahead. It is precisely here, in the middle, that God offers to lead you beside still waters. Psalm 23:2-3 describes the Shepherd's ministry: "He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters, He refreshes my soul." The waterfall in this image is both still and moving -- the pool below it is perfectly clear and calm while the water above cascades freely. This is a picture of the peace God offers: not stagnation, not the frozen stillness of fear, but the living peace of a heart rested in His care while life continues to flow around it.
