Vishu (Kerala New Year) Wallpapers

Vishu is the Kerala New Year festival celebrated on April 14 or 15. The most important tradition is Vishukkani -- an arrangement of auspicious items including a mirror, golden cucumber, betel leaves, rice, fruits, flowers, and a lit brass lamp, placed in front of a Krishna idol. Seeing this arrangement first thing in the morning is believed to ensure a prosperous year ahead. Elders give Vishukaineetam (money) to younger family members. Vishu Sadya, the grand feast, and fireworks are central to the celebrations.
