The gel inside has been used medicinally for over 6,000 years, documented in Sumerian clay tablets and Egyptian papyri. A plant whose entire identity is to heal, growing in the wilderness. Sound familiar? Exodus 15:26 was spoken in the desert. The Israelites had just escaped slavery, crossed a sea, and found themselves in a wasteland with bitter water. It would be easy to assume that the wilderness was godless -- empty, hostile, devoid of provision. But God planted the cure in the harshest place. The aloe grows where nothing else will.
