Durga Puja Wallpapers

Durga Puja is one of the largest Hindu festivals in India, celebrating the victory of Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. While it is the defining cultural event of West Bengal, it is also widely celebrated in Assam, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Tripura. The five-day festival from Shashthi to Vijaya Dashami features elaborate pandals (temporary structures) housing artistic clay idols of Durga. Devotees perform anjali (prayers), participate in dhunuchi naach (incense dance), and enjoy cultural programs. The festival culminates with Sindoor Khela, where married women smear each other with vermilion, followed by the immersion of idols in rivers. Durga Puja represents the triumph of good over evil and the power of feminine divine energy. UNESCO recognized it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2021.
