About this image

How many books would it take to contain the knowledge of God? The question collapses under its own weight. John ended his Gospel with a similar thought: "If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books." Romans 11:33 pushes further. Paul does not merely say God knows a lot. He says God's judgments are anexerauneta -- a Greek word that means literally "un-track-out-able." You cannot follow the footprints. The trail does not exist in a form your mind can trace. This wallpaper imagines that impossibility as architecture. Library shelves extending in every direction, warm wood glowing under golden light, corridors branching into corridors, each shelf holding volumes that reference other volumes on other shelves in other corridors. It is beautiful and it is disorienting -- which is precisely the point. Paul wrote this letter from Corinth around 57 AD, staying in the home of a man named Gaius. He had been a Christian for roughly two decades by then, had debated philosophers in Athens, had survived shipwrecks and stonings. And after all of that accumulated experience, his assessment of God's wisdom was: I cannot reach the bottom. Download this HD Bible verse wallpaper.
