About this image
This epic wallpaper captures Lord Krishna in His iconic role as Parthasarathy — the divine charioteer of Arjuna on the legendary battlefield of Kurukshetra. The Mahabharata tells us that Krishna, despite being the Supreme Lord, chose not to fight in the great war. Instead, He offered Arjuna a choice: His entire army, or Himself unarmed as charioteer. Arjuna chose Krishna, and this decision changed the course of history. As the charioteer, Krishna guided not only the horses and chariot but also Arjuna's mind and spirit through the moral crisis that forms the Bhagavad Gita. The image shows Krishna expertly holding the reins while Arjuna stands ready with his legendary Gandiva bow, the two forming an inseparable partnership of divine wisdom and human valor. The vast Kurukshetra battlefield stretches behind them with the armies of Kauravas and Pandavas arrayed for the eighteen-day war. Krishna's role as charioteer carries profound spiritual symbolism: the chariot represents the body, the horses are the senses, the reins are the mind, and Krishna as the charioteer is the inner Self that guides all. The Parthasarathy temple in Chennai is dedicated to this specific form of Krishna. Free HD download for phone and desktop.
