The supreme moment of Lord Mahavira's spiritual journey -- Kevala Jnana, the attainment of omniscience -- is captured in this magnificent HD wallpaper with the grandeur it deserves. Mahavira sits in deep meditation under a Sala tree, and from His body blazes a cosmic light so intense it seems to reach the stars. The tree above glows with divine energy. From the heavens above, celestial beings (devas) descend in procession, showering flowers down upon the one who has achieved what Jain philosophy considers the highest possible state of consciousness: complete and absolute knowledge of all things, past, present, and future. Lord Mahavira -- the 24th and last Tirthankara of the current cosmic cycle -- attained Kevala Jnana at the age of 42, after 12 years and 6 months of intense ascetic practice. The event took place at Jrimbhikagrama on the bank of the Rijupalika river. Unlike the meditative stillness of the Buddha's enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, Mahavira's Kevala Jnana came during walking meditation in a squatting posture -- a testimony to the varied paths through which the infinite consciousness can break through the limitations of karma. Kevala Jnana in Jain philosophy means the complete removal of all four Ghati karmas -- the destructive karmas that limit knowledge, perception, power, and bliss. With their removal, the soul shines in its own natural omniscient light, knowing all things simultaneously without any sensory apparatus.
