Saga Dawa Wallpapers

Saga Dawa, also known as the Triple Blessed Festival, is the most sacred month in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar, with the 15th day (full moon) being the holiest. It commemorates three events in the life of Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana (passing). The festival is observed with great devotion in Sikkim, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh (Dharamsala, Spiti), and among Tibetan Buddhist communities across India. On the peak day, devotees perform kora (circumambulation) around monasteries and sacred sites, spin prayer wheels, light butter lamps, and make charitable donations. In Gangtok, Sikkim, a grand procession carries Buddhist scriptures through the streets. Monasteries hold special pujas and teachings. Devotees practice extra generosity, vegetarianism, and refrain from killing any living beings during the entire month. The festival of Saga Dawa on the full moon coincides with the Theravada Buddhist celebration of Vesak but is observed according to the Tibetan calendar and traditions.
